SUPERVISORY AIR TRAFFIC ASSISTANT

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Air Traffic Assistance Series 2154. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that demonstrated knowledge of and skill in the use of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) air traffic control procedures. Qualifying specialized experience may have been gained in work such as: Civilian or military aircraft operations work, such as flight instructor, instrument rated pilot, flight engineer, or air transport pilot.
